I have been pondering on the mystery of the birth of Jesus...
I read this Luke 1:26
the angel Gabriel was sent by God
( to Mary Gabriel said )
Do not be afraid, Mary, for you have found favor with God.
Now listen: You will concieve and give birth to a son
and you will call his name JESUS
He will be great
and will be called the Son of the Most High,
and the Lord God will give Him the throne of
His father David.
He will reign over the house of Jacob forever,
and his kingdom will have no end.
( Why is ...David His father?
What does it mean to reign over the house of Jacob? )
Who is Jesus?
Let the answer come from the Word
For the Word comes from God
Mark 14 : 60
Again the high priest questioned Him,
Are you the Messiah, the Son of the Blessed One?
"I am," said Jesus, " and all of you will see
"the Son of man seated at the right hand" of the Power
and coming with the clouds of heaven.
Luke 2: 21
He was called JESUS - the name given by the angel before He was conceieved.
The heavenly nature of the birth of Jesus speaks of the mystery of God
coming down to reach us.
Where there is God there is beauty and something we cannot fully grasp.
Yet we know....
Knowing God is not the same as knowing how to express Him..
For sure we cant express Him
Yet we are called to walk closer and closer
And we obey
Washed and afloat in the Spirit

Jesus was called the son of David refers to David's kingship. Meaning that Jesus was the son of the King(God). That mean a person who accepts Jesus as his Lord and Savior will become the son and daughter of the King (God).
ReplyDeleteLiterally, King David was the most devoted of all the King in the history. Though a king yet humble before the most high God. Though a king he danced, sang and praised God.
If King David, holding the highest post in a kingdom yet he praised God with all his might, how much more we do to praise God. We should praise God even more like King David.
Thank you for your meanungful response
