WHEN YOU ARE TOLD NOT TO PRAY

I was led to this message from THE BEREAN Daily Verse and comment.

It is about a king who decreed that no one should pray.... fancy that.

But Daniel still obeyed God and he prayed.

What does this teach me today?

There may come a time when a human being dares to decree that we do not pray.

Or that we abandon the way we pray.

Or that we change the way we pray.

So this has been fore told and we have been warned.

We must be like Daniel...

To grasp just how important prayer is, notice the example of Daniel, one of the three most righteous men in the Bible, according to Ezekiel 14:14. Part of his story is in Daniel 6:7, 10:All the governors of the kingdom, the administrators and satraps, the counselors and advisors, have consulted together to establish a royal statute and to make a firm decree, that whoever petitions any god or man for thirty days, except you, O king, shall be cast into the den of lions. . . . Now when Daniel knew that the writing was signed, he went home. And in his upper room, with his windows open toward Jerusalem, he knelt down on his knees three times that day, and prayed and gave thanks before his God, as was his custom since early days.Daniel believed that prayer was so essential that he chose to risk his life to lions rather than lose contact with God for even a part of a day. We could say that he feared the Lion of Judah more than any physical lion. To him, prayer was a life-and-death issue. Is it to us? How many excuses would we have made to avoid those lions? What excuses do we make today to justify a lack of prayer?

WHY CALEB?

WHO IS CALEB?

From Bible Gateway I found..

Numbers 13:6from the tribe of Judah, Caleb son of Jephunneh;

Numbers 13:30Then Caleb silenced the people before Moses and said, "We should go up and take possession of the land, for we can certainly do it."

Numbers 14:6Joshua son of Nun and Caleb son of Jephunneh, who were among those who had explored the land, tore their clothes.

Numbers 14:24But because my servant Caleb has a different spirit and follows me wholeheartedly, I will bring him into the land he went to, and his descendants will inherit it.

Numbers 14:30Not one of you will enter the land I swore with uplifted hand to make your home, except Caleb son of Jephunneh and Joshua son of Nun.

Numbers 14:38Of the men who went to explore the land, only Joshua son of Nun and Caleb son of Jephunneh survived.

Numbers 26:65For the LORD had told those Israelites they would surely die in the desert, and not one of them was left except Caleb son of Jephunneh and Joshua son of Nun.

Numbers 32:12not one except Caleb son of Jephunneh the Kenizzite and Joshua son of Nun, for they followed the LORD wholeheartedly.'

Deuteronomy 1:36except Caleb son of Jephunneh. He will see it, and I will give him and his descendants the land he set his feet on, because he followed the LORD wholeheartedly."

MERDEKA DREAM

What is your dream for our nation?

More Universities? Hospitals? Theatres?

All I want is a Church for you.

This church will be for all nations

and of course for you.

And you would not have to be a seeker

Wandering like a ship without a harbour.

So where will we build this church and who will build it?

This is it.

Start right now and every brick, and every seat, and every voice

Will matter.

For you are building a church that will enjoy

Choice.

The choice that Heaven gave Adam

But he made wrong choice.

So what is yours?

THE UNSEEN

Our conversation was left hanging,
"There is no truth" he said.
Somehow deep inside me I felt there was some truth
in what he said.

One truth I feel now is of Love,

We took a journey to see someone we love.

Eventho we did not say it but he knew we were there
because we love him.

There was so much laughter and spontaneity.

And open talk.

Reality.

You said you wanted to paint "the void"

The emptiness.

THE UNSEEN came to my mind,

"I am a seeker" you said.

"Don't get me wrong..I believe in God"

You said.

I did not get a chance to hear more about
the God you were refering to.

The one whom you said is "the same God"

The void is a that which completes the picture.

That is what you want to paint.

Is it?

A DIFFERENT SPIRIT

Caleb’s Courage

Caleb’s courage was first displayed after his return from his spy mission into the Promised Land. He was willing to take a stand with God when the crowd was more than willing to oppose God’s will. As we recall, ten of the spies returned with “bad news”. They stated that taking the land was beyond their ability (Numbers 13:31). Joshua and Caleb reported just the opposite. In fact Caleb, “quieted the people before Moses”, and said, “Let us go up at once, and occupy it; for we are well able to overcome it” (Numbers 13:30 – ESV). He also said, “If the Lord delight in us, then he will bring us into this land, and give it us” (Numbers 14:8). Caleb was simply trying to motivate the people to go up and possess the land which God had promised (Genesis 17:8). They in turn desired to kill him (Numbers 14:10). Think about it! These people would rather have killed Caleb than listen to his words of exhortation. Like Caleb, we as faithful followers of God must be prepared to face adversity when we stand for the truth of God’s word. There are those who will oppose us with every fiber of their being before they will submit to God’s will. Do we possess the courage of Caleb? Will we stand with God even if means standing alone?

Understanding Caleb’s Character

The “key” to our understanding of Caleb’s character is found in Numbers 14:24 in the phrase, “different spirit” (ESV). We too must possess a “different” spirit in order to be pleasing to God. Many in the Lord’s church must come to grips with the fact that we are not like everyone else. Standing for the truth will not be popular with those of the world (John 15:19; John 17:14; 1 John 3:13). Too many Christians are more concerned about “what everyone else thinks” than “what God thinks”.

THE LAST HOUSE

There was one more house...

He decided to try and open the gate....

Inside... she saw a hand moving the latch...

Was it a burglar or someone who needed help?

She went out, taking a risk...

"Can I help you?" she asked..

" Can I put this sign for a house on sale.."

A voice prompted her to ask.."Do you know Jesus?"

In her head she told herself, I can't do that. This is Australia. I will be accused of IMPOSING...

(IMPOSING??) "What,... you mean in Australia they are not free? Free to believe..?" I asked.

" They are free.. but I can't impose...they are very sensistive" she explained.

Actually, I did not see the point. I mean, if they are free, why should sharing faith be imposing?

Mmm.. It baffled me.

Seems like in other parts of the world people were also having problems about freedom.

I was amazed. Ironic. So much freedom for other things, but not for faith.

She continued her story. As she shared with the man, she heard a voice. "Prayer of salvation".

After some resisitance ( I CAN"T DO THAT I WILL BE IMPOSING ) ,
she obeyed the heavenly command.

( When Heaven calls how can you say no? )

He agreed to say the prayer. Then she invited him in.

After he prayed to accept Jesus into his life, he told her he was about to "kick the bucket".

What stopped him was..There was one more house , the last house on the road.

Her house.

And now he is in a Motorcycle Ministry.

This made me think.
We may not take people seriously
when they say they want to give up.

Christ steps in and whispers to us.

Listen when He speaks.

That is submission.

Jesus saves.
Today I saw this in a new light.

MOTORCYCLE MINISTRY

It has been a wonderful morning.

Jesus wanted to teach me about SUBMISSION.

So somehow I had lunch with a dear friend who shared with me about how she was baptised in the Holy Spirit. As her story unfolded I began to hear a voice that told me... this is submission. When you obey an unreasonable instruction from Heaven.

She related so many experiences... I will post these encounters here in Heavenly Mystery.

As a result of one of her encounters I started to explore on MOTORCYCLE MINISTRY.

I am posting an extract of one site.

I will also include a link so that you can make your own exploration....

One of the most well respected Christian Motorcycle Clubs is:
Soldiers for Jesus. They’ve been around since the 1980’s and are also an international group. They run a yellow and black, three piece patch that has a bible, star of David, with two crossed Calvary swords. They also wear an M.C. patch. Soldiers for Jesus operates like a true M.C. – with mandatory meetings and runs. SFJ membership includes a hang-around period, prospect period, then after they earn the right – the brothers become full members. Soldiers for Jesus reach out to many different types of people – but zero in on the MC’s – and do a great job of reaching many with the Gospel message. SFJ also has thousands of members internationally. SFJ is also very involved in the COC and NCOM. www.soldiersforjesusmc.com

It is the earnest prayer of valid Christian motorcycle groups to reach out with the love of the Lord Jesus Christ to some who are lost, hurting, and dying on the highways and byways of planet earth. Many Christians volunteer to help at various motorcycle events and seek to serve the motorcycle community.

There are also many licensed, or ordained Christian motorcycle ministers in different groups who will perform weddings, funerals, and counseling for motorcyclists in need of such things…

ONE RELIGION?????????????????

I am real upset...!!!!!!!

I guess God knew that there is something he wanted me to see.

It was on the cover of BORNEO TALK in Kuching.

Well, I try not to mention names and all but this time I am going to mention it because they should be accountable for what they write, right?

On the cover of this really good magazine was this really strange TITLE...

ONE RELIGION MANY CULTURES.

I was like..WHAT!!???!!!! Come on. You're not kidding me right?

How dare you write that, really.

What are you saying?

That there is only one religion and there are many cultures... that's all...?

I think I don't have to tell you more... you can read between the lines and imagine all the possibilities and all the ramifications of this statement.

Okay. Cool down.

Everything works out for the good of all who love God.

From the heavenly point of view this tells me. Wake up! Look at what is happening. And what are you going to do about it?

While we sleep people are building a whole complex and proclaiming ONE RELIGION....

Let us not just sigh and say...IN YOUR DREAMS...

Our strength... tolerance ... can be our ARCHILLES HEEL.

What is it that Jesus would do?

Ha , he just answered me....

The way he displyed his ANGER.

"MY FATHER'S HOUSE IS A HOUSE OF PRAYER FOR ALL NATIONS AND YOU HAVE MADE IT INTO A DEN OF THIEVES..."

And he drove all the traders away.

Alone.

He took a stand.

SUBMISSION?

One question leads to another. My post on discipline made me ponder on this word: submission.
What does it mean to you? Why do I hear me friends talk about submitting to God. Submitting to someones decision?

Mmm...First, I wana share my gut feeling. For me submission suggests a power struggle. I give in to you. But I do it by giving up what I want to do. That is submission.

So why do we talk about submission to God?

Because..when we believe, we follow. We are drawn. We have an unstoppable desire to do what God calls us to do.

So submission doesn't quite figure.....

So, let me think about this.

I wana say that Jesus , for me , did not submit.

He knew what he had to do for the Father, and for Salvation. He saw the contradictions in the practices and teachings of some of the leaders . And He said what he had to say. Come what may.

I remember that he drove traders out of the Temple grounds.

" My Father's House is a House of Prayer for all Nations...but you have made it into a den of thieves..."

How did Jesus know then about a world view that includes "all nations" ?

For me , this is the moment of timelessness. Of bordelessness.

So what do you think..?

A MESSAGE FROM GABRIEL

Our Everyday Acts Of Worship

Everything we do
Is an act of worship
That brings pleasure and delight
When it’s done for God
It touches His heart
And is our God-given purpose in life

For God created
Everything that exists
For His glory and His pleasure
And we His children
Have so much worth
More valuable than priceless treasure

For worshipping God
Is truly a lifestyle
Affecting everything we do
It’s not just in singing
Spiritual songs
But in our everyday happenings too

As we minister to those
We see in need
Offering to them our service
And even the mundane
Everyday things
To God, they’re acts of worship

We need to be offering
As a dedication

Every area of our lives
As an act of spiritual
Worship to God
And a most holy sacrifice

For God cares so much
About every detail
No matter how great or small
For God will walk
In our every day life
As we establish Him as Lord

DISCIPLINE?

Someone asked me to ask someone to read something about discipline.

I did not have my Bible with me right now so I am going to post my reflections on this issue of discipline.

Later I will read the Bible and see how on-track or off-track I am.

First of all....

I have painful memories about being disciplined.

My mum forced me to do one hundred sums one evening when I was in Year 1.

And I was looking at the sun going down and wanting to play with a girl in my garden.

When I had done all the sums , my mum gave me 100 more.

It was cruel.

I was powerless.

I never went out to play.

I still think about who she was... the friend I lost.

I guess that is discipline.

I became really good in getting number one in school.

But , you know what, I was not interested in making friends.

Even today people say I am unfriendly.

Sheesh.

That's the dark side of discipline.

Now that I am a teacher trainer I always ask my teacher trainees to consider the feelings of anyone they wish to discipline.

CONSIDER FEELINGS.

First thing, DISCIPLINE YOURSELF and listen to WHY the person behaves the way he does.

" Why are you doing this? I really wana understand...."

You know,.....when I actually can listen and when the person actually pours it out...I am often surprised....

Looks like I did some things or did not do some things and I need to look at MYSELF first.

DISCIPLINE.......

I have to discipline myself first .

But yes, I want Jesus, .. the Holy Spirit and Father.... oh Father...

to discipline me....

I am open...

I wana listen to you Lord.

HEART BEATS

WHEN YOUR HEART BEATS LIKE A DRUM
AND THERE IS NO ONE THERE TO HEAR IT
YET YOU KNOW THAT IT WON'T END
HOW CAN IT...
YOU BELIEVE THAT LOVE WILL COME
EVENTHOUGH THE SILENCE IS PIERCING
AND THE DRUM BEATS ALL AROUND
ARE DROWNING
YOU SHUT OUT EVERY SOUND
LISTEN ONLY TO ONE DRUMMER
EVEN IN YOUR DREAMS
IT'S GETTING LOUDER
CAN'T YOU HEAR IT?

MIGHTY TO SAVE

I listened to this song

Watched the worship

The praise

Prayed too

And I wanted to invite you to come with me

To this sanctuary http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-08YZF87OBQ

Celebrating

For all nations

Click this link and let us sing together

THE COMFORTER

I woke up this morning

Troubled yet at Peace

Someone I love was hurting

And I felt the pain

Then I heard a voice whisper to me

Seek the Comforter

I knew who it was

Because you taught me...

The ways of the wise

Of this world

Can bring heartbreak

Is it the way of Our Lord

I wonder.

Teach me Oh Lord

What to do

Let me follow

Guide me

I need you

And I climbed a ladder

And found two books

Lord you answered my prayer

Yes your words I will share...

PUPPY THOUGHTS ON BEAUTY

Inner beauty will disarm you....

Dogs have plenty of that.

Look at how unexpectedly beautiful they are...

Snowy, their mum

Lost all her fur

While nursing her 5 puppies

And is not featured in this blog

But everyday she runs from the end of the road

The moment she spots me

And her faithfulness

And everpresent smile...

This is inner beauty

THE FREE THINKER

I met a young man who told me

"I am a Free Thinker"

But he was really quite selective

And I say that in a positive way

I mean he could tell me that

"It sucks"

When people changed

For the sake of changing

For the things that they gained

And it sure wasn't out of Faith.

"It sucks"

he said,

shaking his head

with a cynical half smile

And the way he carried himself

I knew

He would never

For those carrots fall

"You have to be so broken

It's pathetic "

He said...

He was apparently apologizing for a one moment in time

When He almost found faith

But, no, not for now , it seems...

For now

He declared

"I am a Free Thinker...I respect others..let them believe..if they do..."

But

Still

When he left

The words that left an impression on me was

"It sucks.."

THE PRINCE

Which Prince are you loyal to?

We are called to be loyal to King and country.

Ofcourse we are loyal...

BUT

WHICH PRINCE ARE YOU LOYAL TO?

You know , I did not know that the Prince of this world is a actually

the Enemy.

The Fallen Angel.

He could be all powerful on earth

If we allow him to control our aspirations.

Micheal Jackson And Religion

I did not want to comment so openly on Micheal Jacksons religion

Isn’t it his personal right?

Yes indeed he has the right to convert if he believes.
As others have their basic right to follow the faith that calls their hearts.
No double standards I suppose.
Do you actually suppose God practices two forms of criteria for choice?

Well, anyway, here I was just surfing…

and I came across a website on how to , well,

adopt another religion
( I prefer not to use the word convert )

Well there were a lot of things I would want to comment on

but what really got to me was how the writer saw Jesus.

( okay, here again I give him the benefit of a doubt…
he has not encountered Jesus…)

He described Jesus as “Slave of God“

What I started to ponder on was this…
how differenty I see Jesus

And how differently I see God.

First of all, God is not a slave master.

The love that God has for Jesus is so deep
because Jesus is His Son. (Capital "s" for SON OF GOD )

And I am a son of God , an equal heir to Salvation.

No slaves in the picture.

There is no Master-Slave relationship.

There is a Father – Son relationship.

Very intimate. Very binding. Unbreakable.

That is why I have to make this post.

Because if I do not , then I am like Peter…

denying knowing Jesus…

I cannot deny knowing Jesus.

He is no slave.

Yet I believe He will forgive you

if you do think He is a slave.

“ Father forgive them for they do not know what they do.”

These are His words as they crucified Him.

They do not know...

If you do want to know

Why go for second hand knowledge.

Read what Jesus Himself says about

what He means when He says

"Moses brought the law

I bring the Truth"

If you do not read what Jesus says

What message are you accepting?

Is it the message that He brought?

Or a translated message?

And you know what happens when humans translate

A heavenly message

It depends on what the translater perceives.

If he cannot perceive the TRUTH

With all the mystery and paradigm shifts

What message are you getting?

Pray for an encounter and experience the heavenly message in all its wonder..

PUPPY THOUGHTS ON MASTERS

Who is the Master?

The one who carries you

Or the one who is being carried?

My Master loves me
O I hope He does

'Cos I sure don't wanna have a Master

Who forgets to feed me

And never ever gives me a shampoo

I can't fend for myself

I need to have my own personal doctor

So, er who's the Master

The one who is doin the lookin after

Or the pampered little fella?

I have taken my Freedom

For granted

So many paths to follow

I can go anywhere to explore

To get whatever I wana

Food, friends and books

But not everyone

Has this chance

And it looks like I sometimes

Waste it

But from now on

I'm gonna place it

HEAVEN LEFT ME

I was all alone
Heaven left me

So much to have
So much nothing to know

Where are you?
Who once was real

I could not pray
Eventhough I had so much to say

Why did I feel
All this emptiness?

Did I not have a mission ?
A heavenly purpose ?

Giving up
Was it an answer ?

Tempting me
It beckoned to me

Come , come .....

Yet I saw
And I heard

Another call me
Don't go

There Is No Such Thing

There is no such thing
as no matter what

I stopped loving you

When it got too hard

When the many times I knew

Became a new reality

So I closed my heart

And I lost the key

Finally I did not want to turn back

Eventhough I wanted you to stop me

Yet I knew you would not

So silently ...

We parted
