PUPPY THOUGHTS ON MASTERS

Who is the Master?

The one who carries you

Or the one who is being carried?

My Master loves me
O I hope He does

'Cos I sure don't wanna have a Master

Who forgets to feed me

And never ever gives me a shampoo

I can't fend for myself

I need to have my own personal doctor

So, er who's the Master

The one who is doin the lookin after

Or the pampered little fella?

  1. Who is master?

An excellent question. Sometimes, I feel so desperate when I see we little puppies trying to control our Master in Heaven. Do we submit to Him or do we expect Him to submit to us. Who is master, really?!

Is it to be His plan, or ours. Is it to be His way, or ours? Is it to be His Word, or ours?

Is it His command that will be obeyed; or is our demand that will prevail?

We won't ever get our relationship with Him right till we know who is master, and when we know how to humbly submit.

Submission is a beauty to behold when it is embraced. Puppies make their demands, and are cute. But far greater the wonder when the puppy that grows up gracefully into a disciplined dog that has his heart tuned to his master's call. He makes no demands; he listens to the command.

Between the pampered puppy and the matured dog, is a time of discipline.

God also disciplines us as we put out our necks for the collar. It may seem like a painful time; but we trust our Master, and surrender all.

  2. Such a timely comment and so unexpected. Who would have thought that puppy thoughts could lead to such deep discoveries about our identity and journey...
