Barapui is looking for his father. For he was born in the jungle hidden by the Eagle, the protector.
The Evil One, Bao Buduk had deceived his father, Lian Aran, that she was Dayang his wife.
So Barapui grew up with no father, but the Eagle was his guide.
"Where is my father. Why does he not look for me? " Barapui asked the Eagle one day.
"He does not know you are here"
" Then I will look for him.."
( I was fascinated by this legend. It spoke of a Father who lost his son . And a son who went searching for his father...It speaks for us.. seeking...I painted this picture of the search...)
Great piece. Bold contrast of colours and cleverly simple but effective motif. An inspired piece as balm for the soul? Ya, why not have a poem to go with it?
