We lose the very thing we have been looking for
We kill the one who loves us

More time to teach us

For they were waiting for a Messiah
But got trapped in their own expectations

You did not fit into their rules and regulations
So they worshipped their own creation

And could not recognize the Real God
That stood before them

All this is too familiar
We are still doing it today

We still kill the one who loves us
With our rules and regulations

Our laws and obsessions
Our false beliefs and material possessions

We kill the God who loves us
How dare we actually do so

For God the Almighty's gonna
Fix it

And sorry to say you're gonna get it
For you have been too drunk

In your power and plans
Too cruel in your pursuit of enforcement

For liberation is real and growthful
For God the Almighty is in in control
